Some Interesting Facts About Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla set the stage for future wireless technology and more than 300 patents were registered and several inventions were envisaged. He is known as Alternating Current ‘s Father (AC). Most of his life is obscure but for many innovations, his inventions made a new way and yes he was a fascinating mystery man.

About Nikola Tesla:

Here are a few interesting facts about Nikola Tesla that you probably didn’t know.

  • He studied engineering, attended Graz, Austria, and Prague University of Technology. At Graz, you know, he first saw Gramme dynamo that can be powered as a generator, and when it was reversed, it was an electric motor and then he invented a way of using alternating current. He later visualized the spinning magnetic field theory and developed designs for an induction engine that would be his first step in the successful use of Alternating Current in Budapest.
  • He has various habits and is also known as Germaphobe. He ‘d had a regimented routine throughout his life. Some say he’s only taking two hours of night sleep. While at Delmonico’s in New York, he had dinner at the same table, and then at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel. He was also scared of germs and cleaned his dining room every night with a stack of 18 napkins and even wore white gloves for every meal.
  • He had set up his own Colorado laboratory, where he can invent and work as much as he wants. He experimented with shadowgraphs similar to those which Wilhelm Rontgen was later to use when he discovered X-rays in 1895. His countless work included a carbon button lamp, electrical resonance control, and different kinds of lighting. In 1898 Tesla revealed his invention of a remote-controlled automatic boat.
  • In 1882 Nikola Tesla went to work for the Continental Edison Company in Paris and in 1883 went to Strasbourg for an assignment where he designed his first induction motor after working hours. In 1884, with just four cents in his pocket, he went to America with some poems and measurements for a flying plane, in New York. He first found employment with Thomas Edison but in the background and methods, the two inventors were far apart and so their separation is inevitable.

These are just a few important facts about Nikola Tesla and there are quite a few others apart from these. Tesla was quite a genius man, whose likes cannot be seen these days. We hope this was helpful.
